Deuteronomy 15:16
Print
And it shall be, if he say unto thee, ‘I will not go away from thee,’ because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee,
And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go out from thee; because he loveth thee and thy house, because he is well with thee;
Now if the servant says to you, ‘I will not leave you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he is doing well with you;
But if the servant says to you, I will not go away from you, because he loves you and your household, since he does well with you,
And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee;
But if your slave says to you, ‘I don’t want to leave you,’ because he loves you and your family, and is well off with you,
( Now if your male servant says to you: “I don’t want to leave your service” because he loves you and your family and because life is good for him in your service,
But if he says to you, ‘I don’t want to leave you,’ because he loves you and your household, and because his life with you is a good one;
But one of your slaves may say, “I love you and your family, and I would be better off staying with you, so please don't make me leave.”
And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee,—because he loveth thee and thy house, because he is well with thee,—
But if he say: I will not depart: because he loveth thee, and thy house, and findeth that he is well with thee:
“But one of your slaves might say to you, ‘I will not leave you.’ He might say this because he loves you and your family and because he has a good life with you.
But perhaps your servant will say to you, ‘I do not want to leave you!’ He may say that because he loves you and your family. He enjoys his life with you.
But he might say to you, “I don’t want to leave you,” because he loves you and your household, and he is well off with you.
But if he says to you, ‘I will not go out from you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he is well-off with you,
But if he says to you, ‘I will not go out from you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he is well off with you,
But if your slave says to you, “I don’t want to leave you,” because he loves you and your ·family [L house] and has a good life with you,
And if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee, because he loveth thee and thine house, and because he is well with thee,
But suppose a male slave says to you, “I don’t want to leave you,” because he loves you and your family and is happy with you.
“But your slave may not want to leave; he may love you and your family and be content to stay.
But if your slave says to you, ‘I don’t want to leave you,’ because he loves you and your family, and is well off with you,
But your slave might say to you, “I don’t want to leave you.” He might love you and your family. He might have a good life with you.
“If that slave should say to you, ‘I won’t leave you,’ because he loves you and your household, and it was good for him to be with you,
And it shall be, if he says unto thee, I will not go away from thee because he loves thee and thy house because he is well with thee,
And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee;
And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee;
And it will be that, if he says to you, ‘I will not go out from you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he fares well with you;
And then if it will happen that he says to you, ‘I do not want to go out from you,’ because he loves you and your family, because it is good for him to be with you;
“But if your Hebrew slave doesn’t want to leave—if he says he loves you and enjoys your pleasant home and gets along well with you—
But if your slave, because he loves you and your family and has a good life with you, says, “I don’t want to leave you,” then take an awl and pierce through his earlobe into the doorpost, marking him as your slave forever. Do the same with your women slaves who want to stay with you.
It shall be, if he says to you, “I will not go away from you,” because he loves you and your house, because he is well off with you,
But suppose a male slave says to you, “I don’t want to leave you,” because he loves you and your family and is happy with you.
But if he says to you, “I do not wish to leave you,” because he loves you and your household, since he is well off with you,
But it shall come about, if he says to you, ‘I will not leave you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he is doing well with you,
It shall come about if he says to you, ‘I will not go out from you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he fares well with you;
But if your slave says to you, “I do not want to leave you,” because he loves you and your family and is well off with you,
But if your slave says to you, “I don’t want to leave you,” because he loves you and your family and has a good life with you,
However, if the servant says to you, “I do not want to leave you,” because he loves you and your household, since he is well off with you,
But suppose your servant says to you, “I don’t want to leave you.” He loves you and your family. And you are taking good care of him.
But if your servant says to you, “I do not want to leave you,” because he loves you and your family and is well off with you,
But if your servant says to you, ‘I do not want to leave you,’ because he loves you and your family and is well off with you,
And if it happens that he says to you, ‘I will not go away from you,’ because he loves you and your house, since he prospers with you,
But he may say to you, ‘I will not leave you,’ because he loves you and those of your house and gets along well with you.
“But suppose your servant says, ‘I will not leave you,’ because he loves you and your family, and he has done well with you.
But if he says to you, ‘I will not go out from you’, because he loves you and your household, since he is well off with you,
But if he says to you, ‘I will not go out from you’, because he loves you and your household, since he is well off with you,
But if he says to you, “I will not go out from you,” because he loves you and your household, since he is well off with you,
But if he says to you, ‘I will not go out from you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he is well off with you,
And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine bais, because he fares well with thee;
But if he says to you, ‘I will not go out from you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he fares well with you,
But if he says to you, ‘I will not go out from you,’ because he loves you and your household, since he fares well with you,
“Now if he tells you, ‘I will not go away from you’—because he loves you and your household since he is well off with you—
Don’t feel you’ve been cheated when you set your slave free. It would have cost you twice as much to hire someone to do the same work over those six years, and He will bless you in everything you do because of your generosity. But perhaps your slave will say to you at the end of the six years, “I don’t want to be set free! I love you and your whole family. It’s really good for me to be here with you.” You can accept a slave like this into lifetime service. Perform a special ceremony to mark his new status. Have the slave stand right next to the door of your house, take an awl, and drive it through the slave’s ear lobe into the door. Then pull it out. This will make marks in the ear lobe and in the door that will symbolize the slave. Either a male or a female slave can enter lifetime service this way with this physical mark.
It shall be, if he tells you, “I will not go out from you,” because he loves you and your house, because he is well with you,
But if he say, I will not go out, for he loveth thee, and thine house(hold), and he feeleth that it is well to him with thee, (But if thy slave saith, I will not leave thee, for I love thee, and thy family, and he feeleth that it is good for him to be with thee,)
`And it hath been, when he saith unto thee, I go not out from thee -- because he hath loved thee, and thy house, because [it is] good for him with thee --
